Like plants? Can you tell a redbud from a red maple? A caladium from a calathea? Crotons from coontie? Mangos from mayhaws? Horticulture judging and related contests may just be for you!
Horticulture judging is an event that tests identification and selection skills of over 200 plants: flowers and foliages, fruits and nuts, vegetables and ornamental plants through specimens to identify and placing classes. While horticulture judging is mainly a 4-H contest, other contests related to horticulture are also offered through FFA on the state and national levels.
