Florida 4-H Horse Demonstration and Horse Judging Teams Receive Awards at Eastern National 4-H Horse Roundup
FLORIDA - The Sunshine State is home to the Horse Capital of the World in Ocala, and its reputation for this industry continued to shine during the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky this week. Five 4-H members from Central Florida traveled to the Bluegrass State from November 6th to 8th to compete in their respective contests in the 2015 Eastern National 4-H Roundup. Alyssa Ohmstede of the UF IFAS Extension Seminole County 4-H competed in the Individual Presentation Contest with a presentation entitled "Equine HYPP" and received 10th Place Overall. UF IFAS Extension Lake County 4-H members Aviles Champion, Morgan Skrabalak, Morgan Swann, and Callie Williams competed in the Horse Judging Contest. The team placed 5th in Confirmation, 6th in Performance, 10th in Reasons, and 5th Place Overall. Congratulations to all five of these individuals for being outstanding representatives in one of Florida's most active youth programs.
