On Tuesday, November 15th, the North American International Livestock Exposition held the annual National 4-H Livestock Judging Contest in Louisville, Ky. The Florida 4-H Youth Development Program was represented by the state winning team from Volusia County Florida 4-H.
Team members included Thomas Schroeder, Makayla Vaughn, Brooke Miller and Hunter Clay with Coach Lori Smith. As a team, they placed 26th Overall. Individually, Thomas Schroeder was the highest scoring individual on the team, with 32 teams and 123 individuals competing.
Livestock Judging is an event designed to test the evaluation and decision making skills of students through evaluating market and breeding beef cattle, swine, sheep and meat goats as well as the defense of placings via oral reasons.
